Obituary

Celestine Spaulding
August 1, 1956 – February 6, 2021

Celestine Spaulding, affectionately known as "Stine" or "Celest" was born on August 1, 1956 in Lampkin,
MS to the late Johnnie B. Allen Pearson and Charles Van Allen, Sr. She is also preceded in death by her
brother, Charles Van Allen, Jr.
Charles Van Allen, Jr. Johnnie B. Pearson Charles Van Allen, Sr.

Celestine accepted Christ at an early age, where she attended Christian Valley Church, where her mothers'
family (Denson) roots were.
Celestine was raised and educated in Humphrey's County. Despite becoming ill at an early age, she would
graduate from Thornridge High School, when her family moved to Harvey, IL. Stine got an opportunity to
receive technical skills in Child Care. She would then be able to be fulfilled her love of children by working
in a day care.
On October 31, 1979, God answered her prayers. Celestine longing for children ended and she was blessed
with a beautiful son, Isaac. Celest loved God with all her heart, and it was evident in the way she
wholeheartedly served in different capacities of the Church of God in Christ and in the way she helped
others.
Celestine would later return to Mississippi, and on March 26, 1986, God would bless her again with a ray of
sunshine, a daughter, Alicia.
Celestine was a member of the Upper Room Fellowship Ministries and attended when health allowed.
She faced many hardships in life, but as the word of God promise, He never left her side. Celest would be
able to travel and enjoy many cities and states in her lifetime, with her oldest sister, Annie at the wheel.
Celest loved everyone, especially her family. There truly was never a stranger she met. Trust and believe
she would always have a story to tell with that little girl laugh she had.
In August 2017, Celestine moved to Alabama, to be with her son, Isaac. Stine departed this life on February
6, 2021 in Huntsville Hospital, sleeping peacefully away. Although, we will miss her dearly, she is no longer
suffering as she is in the loving arms of her father, Jesus.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Alicia (Tennessee); a son, Isaac (Alabama); four sisters,
Carolyn (Texas); Margaret (Texas), Teretha (Tennessee) and Annie (Mississippi), three grandchildren,
Ambria, Sierra and Isys and a beloved family friend, Percy "Joe" Puckett. Celestine also leaves to cherish her
memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
