Obituary

A Time to be Born… During the spring season of his life's journey, C.F. Walker entered this life on Saturday,
October 28, 1950 the 301st day of the year, into the loving arms of the late Willie Adolphus and Elerine
(Sandridge) Walker in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He was the fourth of fourteen children. He kept his parents
on their toes, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He had an infectious smile and
personality. He was always putting his family's needs above his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Elerine Walker; a son, Clifton F. Walker; grandparents,
Robert Walker, Sr and Mettie Lee Phillips, Willie Sandridge and Floy Rodgers; a sister, Minnie Pearl Sessom,
and brothers Adolphus Walker, Sr., Lee Fant Walker, Sr., and Alvin Walker.
A Time to Plant… During the summer season of his life's journey, he wanted to make sure that when he left
this world, his family would be alright and he did that! During this season of his life's journey, he left
Mississippi in 1968 and moved to Memphis, TN, where he soon met, the love of his life. He was united in
holy matrimony to Velma Euell, on August 7, 1972. To this union, three children were born, Clifton, Tiffany,
and Janairo.
A Time to Harvest… During the fall season of his life's journey, Shakey was a person with great integrity and
morals. He mastered the various roles he had acquired during his journey, as a provider, a giving husband,
compassionate father and loving father-in law, caring grandfather, a beloved brother, and endearing uncle,
kind-hearted brother-in law, supportive son-in law, and dedicated friend. He worked for Tri-Chem during
the 70s, until he became disabled. Throughout the years, he continued his education through HopeWorks
Adult Education program, were his teachers spoke so highly of him, his character, dedication to his
education and his academic achievements. He would often travel from church to church to hear his
nephew, Junior preach. During these last months on Earth, he talked often about his relationship with God
during his morning talks with his friend, Honey and his daughter. Shakey often told his daughter, if the good
Lord takes me home, "I'm alright, because He has been good to me!" Whew! child, God has been good for
69 years.
A Time to Die … During the winter season of his life's journey, C.F. said, "Yes, Lord." On Wednesday evening,
September 23, 2020, at 6:15 p.m. God called you from labor to rest at Baptist Hospital. He leaves to cherish
his legacy and memories, his wife, Velma Walker, a daughter, Tiffany (Harold) McCall of Cordova, TN, a son,
