Christine Curry was born January 23, 1935, to the union of Rev. David Curry and Georgia
McCoy-Curry who she will meet in heaven. Having grown up in an active Christian home, she
confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was also a devoted member of
Issaquena Baptist Church before relocating to Arlington, Texas.
During her educational years, she attended Yazoo City Training School in Yazoo City, MS. In
1954 she met her soulmate Arthur Jackson to that union they had three children. Glenda Curry,
Ronnie Curry, and Shirley Curry.
The Yazoo County Courthouse employed Christine for many years; she was a reliable and
devoted employee. She had an affinity for cooking, photography, collecting recipe books, and
people. For all that knew her knew her doors were always open to anyone who wanted a "good
home-cooked meal." Chris as she's affectionately called joined the "Elite Social Club" with a
group of like-minded ladies. This club hosted many memorable events, such as Conferences and
Retreats.
Christine was full of fun, life, beauty, laughter, unconditional love, and wisdom which she
instilled these attributes within her family.
Preceding her in death were her siblings: Tommy Curry (Lee Etta), Eddie Curry (Betty), David
Curry Jr. and Bertha Curry. Son Ronnie Curry and Grandson Jarami S. Thomas.
A life well spent in His service. Christine leaves to cherish and mourn her memories: two loving
daughters Glenda Curry of Arlington, TX. Shirley Curry-Thomas (James) of Arlington, TX.
Grandchildren: Lashonda Curry, Jamia Curry, Jailon Thomas, Rhonda Stuckey, Raymondus
Curry, and Ronnie Westbrook. Sisters: Margaree Currie and Lillian Hill. Five great-
grandchildren: Kyran, Markaylon, Autumn, Kaslyn, and August. An exceptional Sister-in-law
Betty Curry. Special niece Yolanda Curry, special nephew, Eddie Curry. A host of other relatives
and friends.
