Obituary

Denise Michele Thomas "Big Sexy"
December 11, 1959 ~ January 31, 2022

Denise "Big Sexy" Thomas arrived in this world on December 11, 1959 and entered her eternal rest
January 31, 2022. Denise lived a full and vibrant life and could never stay in one place for very long.
There was always some place to be or something to do and all calling her to do it or be there to see it.
Denise's beautiful mother Minnie L. Thomas, brother Malcolm, granddaughter Asia, grandparents Mary
& Henry Thomas (maternal), Olivia & Jack Ingram (paternal), three aunts and one uncle have all
embraced her at her arrival to her heavenly home of rest.

Denise attended St Francis Catholic School and later attended Yazoo City Public School system until her
graduation from Yazoo City High School in 1978. She was a proud Alum of Alcorn State University
graduating in the class of 1982…she loved her purple and gold. She was employed by several local
agencies starting with Heritage Manor, Yazoo Industrial, Simmons Catfish and finally at Yazoo City
Municipal School District where she worked every day as a substitute teacher until promoted to a
Teacher Assistant position from 2006-2015. Denise's life radiated with joy. She was always laughing
and being the center of attention….she truly enjoyed her life and all the people who was the circle of her
joy.

Denise's circle of joy and the ones she leaves to mourn her Earthly departure is her son Brian Thomas
(Chicago, IL), daughter Beonca Thomas (Yazoo, MS), father Jack (JoAnn) Ingram Jr. (Chicago, IL), her 10
grandchildren Brielle Thomas (Chicago, IL), Jamari M. Thomas (Chicago, IL), Rashad R Young (Chicago, IL),
Braxton L. Thomas (Chicago, IL), Damien C. Sawyer Jr. (Chicago, IL), Tristan B. Thomas (Chicago, IL),
DaQuell D. Thomas (Chicago, IL), Destiny M. Thomas (Chicago, IL), Iziaijha D. Thomas (Louise, MS), K. J.
Cooper (Yazoo, MS), three sisters Jacqueline Ingram (Chicago, IL), Rosetta (Kim) Smith (Chicago, IL),
Teresa (Rayard Jr) Ingram-Herron (Chicago, IL), one brother Marshall Ingram (Chicago, IL), her beloved
cousin/sister Dannette Allen (Charleston, SC) five aunts Rosie M. Thomas (Charleston, SC), Christine
(Dan) Day (Jackson, MS), Joann Mryhill (Chicago, IL), Dorothy Burnett (Chicago, IL), Bobby (Sam) Scott
(Yazoo, MS) and two uncles William (Christine) Thomas (Atlanta, GA), Sanders Pete (Ruby) Ingram
(Chicago, IL), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Big Sexy physical body is not with us but if she could speak to us, she would encourage us that she is
well, no longer suffering or in pain. She would throw her head back and laugh and tell us to enjoy our
time together as a family.
