Dorothy Gainwell's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Gainwell was born June 24th
1936 to Mr. Peter and Marie Stiff in Benton,
Mississippi; she was the fifth of her nine siblings. She was
proceeded in death by her one Susie Moten and five of her
bothers Peter, James, Clinton, John and Steve. She leaves
two brothers Joseph and Robert Hollins to cherish her
memories.
Dorothy was saved at an early age; she worshipped
and served the Lord, at the Pleasant Green M.B.
Church in Yazoo City, Mississippi under the leadership of
her Pastor Morris Allen and later his daughter Pastor Andrea
Allen Rush.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Leo
Napoleon Gainwell Jr. To their union of forty-six
years, ten children were born; Helen Mann, Doris Green
both of Jackson, MS. Leo Gainwell (Brenda) of Yazoo City,
MS, David Gainwell (Ronda) of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Annie Gainwell of Oswego, Ill. Albert Gainwell (Tanya) of
Saginaw, Michigan, and Kenneth Gainwell (Barbara) of
Hammond, Louisiana. Alvin, Jessie and Tommy Gainwell
proceeded her in death.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory and legacy of
love, her grandchildren, Kiesha Johnson, Jarvis
Johnson, Audrey Jones (Carlos), Tawanna Spann (George),
Susie Haymer, Anterrio Gainwell (Yolanda), Margo Gainwell,
Jade Thomas (Carlos) Katie Walton (Keith), Shunta Gene,
Purvis King (Nikki), David King., Kenya King, Brittney
Jones (Greg), Michael Arnold, Marquis Wright ( La Netta),
Albert Wright Jr., Travis Bullock, Kenneth Gainwell Jr,
Kieerra Smith and McKenley Gainwell.
Dorothy will be missed by her three sisters-
in
-law,
four brothers-
in
-law, of Yazoo City, Ms. Forty-
four Great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,
friends and a special cousin, Mrs. Alvonia Fouche of Yazoo
City, Ms.
