Eddie Lee Mitchell Jr. was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on April 18, 1945, the fifth child of Edy Lee Mitchell, Sr and Mary Bell
Mitchell. Eddie was affectionately known by family and close friends as 'Blue'. He attended school in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and left
home in his teens to seek work. Disillusioned by the World's injustice he experienced, and witnessed Eddie sought relief by social activist but found that wasn't the answer. While in Chicago in the late 60s seeking answers he came across Jehovah Witnesses, but it would be 1972 before he
received the answers he needed. Eddie learned in the Bible, about a kingdom government that would eliminate all of mankind's suffering and Eddie appreciated the promise found in Revelation 21:3,4. Confident in this promise he dedicated his life to Jehovah by water baptism on December 30,1972. His favorite scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine; and Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus approached
and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. Go, therefore, and make
disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things." He was employed by Florida Power & Light in 1977 and retired in 1993, and later employed by Sam's Club and retired in 2013. Eddie enjoyed sharing Bible truths with anyone he met, and he would talk for hours with anyone he encountered, especially family or friends when visiting with them. Eddie assisted many to come to know and love Jehovah. Eddie loved his family, and his music and music was his favorite past time. And his family loved to hear him
play music and sing. He would DJ for many get-togethers and social events, and they also enjoyed hearing him sing.

In the early 90's Eddie met Patsy Davis, and they were married on January 19, 1991. In 2003 Eddie had the privilege of serving as an elder in the Riviera Beach congregation where Patsy lovingly supported him in his service to the congregation, until his illness. Patsy's unconditional love has been a testimony to their love. It was Patsy's love and his love of music that continued to soothe him through the difficult time. And despite his
illness, he remained faithful in his service to Jehovah, as he had throughout his life—exemplifying true faith and perseverance in his service and worship. Eddie leaves to mourn with the resurrection hope his endearing wife Patsy, children: Dawn Gunter (Kelvin) Orlando, Ramona Mitchell,
Riviera Bch FL., Eddie Michell, III, Stone Mountain, Ga; Desma Mitchell, Clarkston, Ga; Max Davis, Texas; Alex Davis, Riviera Beach, FL; Will Davis (Tiffany), New Jersey; sisters: Ruthie Lee Cannady, St. Louis, MO, Mandy Walker, Mary D. Mitchell, Charline Bolden of Jackson, MS, Pandora Harris, Ft. Worth, TX; brothers: Willie Mitchell (Linda) and Sammie Mitchell (Andrela) of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law: Mary Gilyard (Larry); brother-in-laws:
Eartha B. Thomas (LeAnn), Philip and Jeffrey McDonald; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. And a host of cousins, and
nieces and nephews.

Special acknowledgement to Cleotha Sanders who was more like a brother than a cousin, Raymond and Vivian Evans, spiritual
children, and Desma Mitchell who set a beautiful example of honoring her father in his time of need. Also, many other spiritual
children that he aided in the truth.
