A TIME TO BE BORN

Mr. Eddie James Smith, also known as Bug, was born on August
24, 1956 in Benton Ms to the late James Smith and Mary Estelle
Smith.

A TIME TO BE EDUCATED

Eddie began his educational journey at Linwood elementary school
and Benton high school. He was a jokester among all his friends.
A TIME TO BEGIN HIS

CHRISTIAN JOURNEY
Eddie accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and
joined Steve Chapel AME church.
A TIME TO LOVE

On August 24, 1985, Eddie married Gloria Jean Gainwell. To this
union, two children were born: Melissia Shantae Smith and Annie
Louise Granderson. Eddie had massive love and care for all of his
children.

A time to work

Eddie began his life as a farmer. He mastered the skills of farm
work employed under John Howard, and Frank Nichols. Within
the years of his duties, he was an exceptional tractor driver. His
love for farm work was very genuine.
A TIME TO MOURN

Eddie transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on
Thursday, June 24, 2021 @ 10:24 p.m. at Merit Health, Vicksburg,
Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa
Shantae Smith; his parents, James Smith Sr. And Mary Estelle
Smith; brothers: James Smith Jr and L. C. Smith; and sister: Carrie
Mae Smith.

A TIME TO CHERISH

Eddie leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Gloria Jean
Smith; ten children: Alonzo (Joleen) Moton, Cathehlen Bassett,
Eddie (Diane) Moton, Kiley Moton (Kenneth Williams), Shenitha
Moton, Tornesha (Derrick) Nelson, Annie Granderson, Victor
(Katrina) Granderson, Paul (Shirley) Granderson, and Cedric
Granderson; three sisters: Annie Louise Stamps, Lessie Smith, and
Callie Mae Smith; two brothers: Roger Lee Smith and Eddie Bassett; mother and father-in-law: James (Louise) Gainwell and a host of sister and brother in laws, grand children, great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
