EVANGELIST ELIZABETH CARTER
May 17, 1941 ~ November 8, 2020
Evangelist Elizabeth "Lil Bit" Carter was born May 17, 1941 to the
Late George and Bertha Hobson in Belzoni, MS. She accepted
Christ at an early age. She was a graduate of the Class of 1962. After
graduating, she married James Carter. In this union 7 children were
born.
Elizabeth was a wife, mother, and also a God fearing WOG! In
the early part on 2000, she became an ordained Evangelist under
the leadership of Bishop Earnest (Virginia) Miller and Elder Leon (Inez)
Edwards. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years at First
Apostolic and a faithful servant for the Lord until her health failed.
When Elizabeth wasn't teaching, preaching, or reading her word, she
would spend time with her family doing things she enjoyed, walking,
shopping, being a mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger.
Always greeted you with a smile.
On November 8th, Elizabeth transitioned to be with the Lord.
She leaves 8 children to cherish her memories. Angela, Sonia,
Brenda, Meko, and Shavone Carter all of Yazoo City, MS, Shelia
(Cleon) Stewart of Shrevport, LA, Eric Carter of Yazoo City, MS, and
Michael (LaShonda) Carter of Jackson, MS whom she raised as her own; 3 sisters, Georgia (Otis) Brown
of Southfiled, MI, Dorthy Hobson and Clara Porter of Detroit, MI; two brothers, David G. Hobson of
Yazoo City, MS and Will R. Hobson of North Lake, IL; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grands; a host of
nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Her husband, James Carter; brother, Bobo Hobson; brother-in-law, Luvinxent Porter; and
stepmother, Dorthy Hobson preceded her in death.
