Everett Warren
Boddy Jr
Apr 9, 1956 — Sep 20, 2021
Everett "Pete" Warren Boddy, Jr. was born on April 9, 1956 to the
union of the late Everett Warren Boddy, Sr. and Hildred Louise
King Boddy. To that union, eight children were born and were raised in
Benton, Mississippi. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. Pete
departed this life on September 20, 2021 surrounded by his family. Everett was united in holy matrimony in 1984 to Brenda Bullock
Boddy, who preceded him in death. To this union, the three EAB
Girls were born. Erin Alysh, Emily Alycya who preceded him in death,
and Essence Arriah were blessed to have him as a father. He was always
dedicated to being present and made sure they knew he was their number
one supporter. Everett was a devoted friend. His earlier years were filled with
cherished memories on the diamond with his softball and baseball
teams who were truly like family. He even touched many lives as an
umpire for the local youth baseball leagues leaving an immense, positive
impact on future generations. Pete believed in treating people righteously
and made a host of lifelong friends along the path he walked on earth. A
true family man, Everett loved to be surrounded by his family. He is
preceded in death by his oldest sister, Hilda Boddy Anderson, whom
he cherished dearly and his granddaughter Tyeshia Clark. Though not traditionally educated, Everett was a man of exceptional
talent and did not meet a challenge he could not defeat. He was a
true craftsman and always found a way to leave things better than he
found them. Pete worked for many years as a handyman and contractor
alongside his family. He was always willing to help others in their times of
need, no matter what the need happened to be. If it was in his power, it
was done. Always a hardworking man, Everett worked tirelessly for
Yazoo County and dedicated many years to the community. Pete believed in supporting and lifting others and was known to give
praise and encouragement to all. If he didn't have a lovely or beautiful
word to spread, his smile said more than enough for him. Everett leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children Quincy
Parker, Terrence Parker, Erin Boddy Clarke (Keith) and Essence
