GERALDENE G. BROWN
Geraldene G. Brown was born on September 23, 1953 to Ms. Cornelia K. Newman and the late Mr. M.C. Griffin.
She accepted Christ at an early age at the Antioch M.B. Church in Benton, MS. She later joined Oak Grove A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend B. Mullen.
Sister Brown was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over thirty-five years. She worked at the Oasis Nursing Home and Martha Coker Green House Home in Yazoo City, MS. She worked at V.A. Montgomery Hospital until her health began to fail.
Geraldene was united in holy matrimony to the Love of her life George "Bae" Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; George Brown; stepfather, Mr. Phillip Newman; brothers, Darren and Carl Griffin; and sisters, Jessie Lee Stewart and Stella Newman.
Geraldene leaves a loving mother Ms. Cornelia K. Newman; a devoted son, Sylvester Hackett Jr.; stepsons, George Jr., Calvin Earl, and Jimmy Charles; sisters, Shirley Jackson, Nadine Newman, and Sally (Willie Sr.) Turner; stepsisters, Bernadine Ross, and Yvette Griffin; brothers, John E. Newman, Willie L. Newman, Hal Newman, Jimmie L. Newman, Ross T. (Roberta) Newman, and David E. Newman; stepbrother, Ronnie Griffin; grandsons, Devon Hackett, Dontavious Simmons, Andrew Edwards, and Quindarrius Hackett; granddaughters, Tamia Hackett, Jarkevia Hackett, a special beloved niece that was there until the end, Fashionette Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish her loving memories.
