Hugh Losten Collins was born on June 16,1941 to the late Boyd and Willie B. Collins in Yazoo County.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age joining New Liberty Church in Yazoo County. Later joining New
Zion M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Eugene Smith where he severed faithfully.
Hugh's pride ran deeper than anyone could imagine. His ultimate pride was his family. He was an awesome
father , a dedicated brother, wonderful uncle and nephew. God blessed him to have an abundant life and
multiple talents. He has always served the public. After returning home from Chicago ,IL. he was a Yazoo City
Police Officer and later working for the Sohio Oil Company until he truly tapped into his calling. He became a
licensed plumber helping anyone and everyone that he could until his health failed him.
Hugh departed this life Friday, February 12,2021. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories 3 children:
O'kieya Collins (Yazoo City, MS) ; Shirley Collins (Dallas, Tx) ; Linda Collins (Chicago, IL) ; and One daughter
who proceed him in death , Tonya Crockett. He also leaves to cherish his memories : his "Baby Brother "
Cobie (Virginia) Collins of Yazoo City, MS ; Melvertia Brookins (Garland, Tx) ; Ruby (Joe ) Moore
(Winterhaven, FL) Two sisters proceeding him in death Alma Brent and Margaret Overstreet. Holding loving
memories ; One special granddaughter Marlise Collins whom he affectionately called "Molly" ; 8 other
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren , nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
