Obituary

James Herbert Jones was born on December 13, 1958, to the late James
(Red) Jones and the late Alma Louise Kelly Jones in Yazoo County (Valley
Home Plantation in Holly Bluff). Growing up, James attended Holly Bluff
Elementary and later Holly Bluff Line High School, where he received his
High School Diploma. James was fondly known through the years by friends
and family as Hub, Herb, Big Red, Heavy D, and Heavy.
James confessed Christ early in life, and united with New Jerusalem
C.O.G.I.C, in Louise, Ms. under the leadership of Elder Anderson.
For the last several years, James was a faithful, beloved attendant,
participant, and "honorary member" at Mount Salem Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership and Spiritual guidance of Pastor Curtis Baugh,
whom James loved and respected as a Pastor and Dear friend. James also
had a special "brother/sister" relationship with First Lady Sharon Baugh.
James "heavy" brought joy to all who knew him! He had a smile and laugh
that just brought joy and lifted your spirit! He was one of the strongest
people you could meet, with strong faith to match. He came upon many
challenges in life, but he always faced them head on. He trusted God and
remained faithful throughout it all. James departed this world on Friday,
December 11, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center, Yazoo City.
