The spirit that many would come to know and love as JERRY HENDRIX
entered the physical world on June 12, 1950, in Yazoo County, MS. Reared in
a loving, God
-
fearing family setting led by his late parents, Mary and Will
Hendrix of Yazoo County, MS, JERRY accepted Christ as his Savior at an early
age and united with the Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Yazoo City.
With the value of obtaining a quality education installed in him by both his
parents/family, JERRY HENDRIX matriculated through the Yazoo City Public
Schools. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United
States Armed Forces. After serving three (3) years in the Army, including
service in Vietnam, JERRY HENDRIX achieved an Honorable Discharge.
After his military service, he relocated to Chicago, IL where he established a
commendable work record on several jobs. Among those various job
tenures, his favorite was being a Cross Country Truck Driver, and he set an
exemplary record of service in it!
Admired byhis family,friends and all who knew him, JERRY HENDRIX
(affectionately known as "PIG") lived a joyful life filled with an abundance of
blessings from God. He departed this world at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery
Medical Center in Jackson, MS on Saturday, July 10, 2021. His precious
memories shall last forever and LOVE never dies.
JERRY HENDRIX was preceded in death by both parents, as well as his
siblings, Hazel Walker, James Earl Hendrix, Carolyn Hendrix, Charlie Hendrix,
O. D. Hendrix, Jimmy (Jim) Hendrix, Will Hendrix, Jr. and Alberta Hendrix
-
Singleton.
Those here to cherish his memories are two sons
