JOE BOYD

March 5, 1948 ~ December 27, 2019

Joe Boyd joined the United States Marines in 1968 where he served in the Vietnam War. His bravery earned him a Purple Heart as well as several ribbons for valor and service.
He was married to Jeanette Boyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Joe Yarbrough and Lela Womack.
He leaves behind his children, Frederick (Annette) Mead, Sharron, Jennifer Mead, Melissa Lewis, Nicholas, Carolyn, Triston Boyd (all of Chicago, IL), Bradley (Myisha) Boyd (Kansas), loving aunt Mamie Allen (Yazoo City, MS), nieces, Keyana (Timothy) Ervin (Naperville, IL), LaTasha Walton (Minnesota), nephews, Willie (Nekeshi) Rayford, (Lansing, IL), LaVell Walton (Chicago, IL), favorite cousin Mona (Stephen) Drummond (Sacramento, CA, sibling: Joyce (Larry) Ray (Chicago, IL), loving mate Julia Barber, her children who affectionately called him Stepdad and Pops, and a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish his loving memories.
