He was a loving father and grandfather, always full of joy and fun. He always loved to talk with

member under the leadership of the Late James E. Johnson. New Tabernacle M. B. Church is
where he attended and served as a faithful member of the deacon board under the leadership
of Rev. Robert Green until his passing.
Joe gained his wings on Monday, August 24, 2020 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He will now be reunited with his mother, father, maternal and paternal grandparents along with
his sisters, Elsa and Jesse Mae and his brother J.W. Scott whom all proceeded him in death.
Joe's precious memories will be forever cherished by his loved ones. He leaves behind four
daughters, Tina Gordon of Victorville, CA , Linda Scott(Lloyd) of Yazoo City, MS, Shirley Jones
(Qornell) of Jackson, MS and Susie Barton (Peter) of Yazoo City, MS one son, Jamie Scott of
Yazoo City, MS, Thirteen grandchildren, Seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was a genuine man and a calm voice to all that he crossed paths within his lifetime. He held
a special place in his heart for his best friends, Doc Maple, E.L. Brown and the late Charles
Stuckey. He also had much love for his 740 Shadylane Family.
