Obituary

~JOHNNIE EDWARD BURNS, SR.~
December 9, 1944 ~ April 2, 2020
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
2 Timothy 4:7
Johnnie Edward Burns was born on December 9, 1944 to
Arteishia Rucker and Walter Burns in Yazoo County. He was
loved by many. He was joined in holy matrimony to Francine Burns
on March 13, 1971 and to this union they were blessed with three
children—Beverly, Johnnie Jr., and Jonathan. He confessed his life
to Christ at a later age at St. John M. B. Church under the leadership
of the late Rev. Robert E. Tombs serving faithfully for many years
until his health failed. He was known for his dedication and hard
work at Mississippi Chemical for 40 years until retirement. His
mother and father, along with one sister , Cora Bell Burns, Earl
Wilson, and Phillip Ellis preceded him in death.
A good man's steps are ordered by God.
