....Life Reflections....

... if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation. Romans 10: 9-10
Joseph Hollins was born June 4, 1954, to the late Steve and Marie Little Hollins in Yazoo County, Mississippi. Joseph
confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and joined the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, in Benton,
Mississippi.
Joseph was united in holy matrimony to Emma Brookins in 1980. To this union six children were born Letondra,
Raquel, Joseph, Marie, Emma, and Perry Bernard. His son Perry and grand-daughter A'Miracle Smith, along with his
five brothers: Clarence Stiff, James Stiff, Peter Stiff, Steve Hollins Jr., and John Hollins, two sisters: Suzie Mae Moton
and Dorothy Mae Gainwell, and one great granddaughter Courtni preceded him in death.
Joseph loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, and tinkering with cars were his delights. Joseph retired from the Yazoo
City Barn Street Department. He also worked on the farm and for Hines Grocery. He was also a chef in his own right,
from the South to the North.
On Friday, June 11, 2021, at 12:31 A.M. at the Baptist Hospital in Yazoo City, Mississippi, with his caring wife by his
side, Joseph answered his heavenly Father's calling and made his transition from this life to Eternity.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of forty-one years Emma B. Hollins; seven children: Letondra Brookins
of Temple Hills, Maryland; Raquel, Joseph, Marie Hollins of Yazoo City, Mississippi; Emma Hollins of Atlanta, Georgia
and Marcus Berry of Clarksdale, Mississippi; one brother Robert Louis Hollins of Yazoo City, Mississippi; fourteen
grandchildren: Raqwon, Raquia, Messiah, Corriana, Mariah, Evangeline, E'Mya, Destinee, Marcus, Tydarious,
Damarjoe, Zacharia, Sharroia, and Tykeeria; four great-grandchildren Javarious, Casey, Ty'Shayla, and Daniella; ten
sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special
acknowledgement to his childhood best friend Mary "Winky" Johnson and Cynthia " Bonney" Walker and The Yazoo
City City Barn Street Department Crew who were more like family than co-workers; John B. Scott, Robert Lewis, David
Washington, Danny Miller, Jermaine Greer, Prentis Young and a host of others.
