Katherine Hollins was born on February 6, 1958; to the parents of Jimmy Hollins
and Mary Ella (Washington) Hollins. While in her youth both parents proceeded
her in death. She wasreared by her eldestsister, Girt Trude who affectionately
calledher "Cassey".
Katherine wasa member of theYazooCityHighSchoolClassof1976.
KatherinemarriedJohnnyMackBrownandtwochildrenwereborn;Johnny
andNatasha.
TheLoveofherLifewasFrizell"Sonny"Mallettandtheyweremarriedin1993.
Katherinewasacertifiednursingassistant;whileshetraveledthe stateasa
Nanny forpremature babies.
InherearlyyearsKatherinejoinedNew PilgrimRestBaptistChurch.In2019;
Katherine became a member of New King Solomon Church under the tutelage
of Reverend Dr. Gregory Robertson.She joinedthe Church Choir and served as
Secretaryofthe WomenoftheWayMinistry; as wellasservedasAssistant
SecretaryofNewKingSolomonChurch.Katherineserveddutifullyandwas
eagerto serve.
Her Commitment andDedicationtotheOrder of Eastern Star is unparalleled;as
Sister Katherine served as Worthy Matron in three chapters in the Ninth District
an exceptional feat. Sister Katherine H. Mallett was a member of Electra Grand
ChapterOrderofEasternStar,workingunderM.W. KingHeriumGrandLarge
A.F.and A.M.; StateofMississippiwhereshe servedasGrand Ruth.
Sister MallettwastheorganizerWorthyMatronofMartha #2 Chapter #180of
Yazoo City, MS. She also served as Worthy Matron of Elizabeth Chapter #132
ofTougaloo,MS;andtheAssociate9thDistrictMatron.Katherineorganized
andwas a charteredmemberofQueenOprahCourt #26ofHeroines ofJericho;
affiliated with the Pride of the South Grand Court, working under Moses Grand
Royal Arch, Stateof Mississippi, where sheserved as themost AncientMatron.
SisterMallettservedasTreasurerofLillieM.PaceCounsel#1ofJackson,MS.
ShewasalsoamemberofNoble Court#3wheresheservedasExchequerfor
severalyears.
On Thursday,November 19,2020 KatherineHollinsMallettdepartedthis
earthlylife.Katherinejoinedherparents;herhusband"Sonny";hertwosons;
ChristopherandDarian;andhersiblingsGeneralJamesHollins; HelonHollins
Lockhart;George Hollins,MartinHollins; andEltonJohnsonJr.inherfamily
circle ofdeath.
Manywill mournher passing;but it is in God thatwe place our trust; as Godwill
comfortthosewhowillmissher;JimmyHollinsofYazooCity,MS;Johnny
(Shontina)Brown ofLeakesville,MSandNatashaBrown of Jackson,MS;andher
GodSonMarvin(Kenyatta)PriceofYazooCity,MS;12Grandchildrenand3
Great Grandchildren; and a special friend - Tyrone Jenkins. Joined by her
extendedfamilymembers;includinghersiblings;GirtTrudeHollins,Gilbert
Hollins,andAuguster(Lillian)Hollins,ofYazooCity,MS;Annette(Ruben)
Alvizures of LaGrange, GA; Jacqueline Christmas of Suitland, MD; Dyanne Jones
