Lloyd Harris' Obituary
Lloyd Harris was born in Yazoo County,
Mississippi on May 1, 1942,
to Harvey Harris Sr. and
Mae Belle Hubbard Harris.
As a child he attended St.
James School from 1947 to
1951, after completion of the fourth grade he
went on to Edgar
'
s School in the Fall of 1951
until the Spring of 1955. He spent his
teenage years at Linwood School in Vaughan,
Mississippi from 1955 until 1959.
In January 1960, Lloyd moved to the South
Side of Chicago, IL and lived there for more
than sixty
-
two years. His work history
included, Bellmount Hotel, Western Electric,
Republic Steel, and ABC Plumbing. He retired from ABC Plumbing and
started his own business, D & L Plumbing.
He was married to Dorothy Thomas. This union brought forth three children,
Patricia, Reynard, and Lloyd Jr. who preceded him in death.
He married Deloris Gowdy on January 8, 1977. They share a large blended
family. He leaves to mourn his passing a loving wife, Deloris Harris, nine
children, Brandon Harris, and Timothy (Gina) Gowdy both of Chicago, IL,

Tammy (Curtis) Marks, Rison, AR, Latrice James, Janesville, WI, and

Clark, Fort Worth, TX. A special grandson Vickari Lewis, Chicago, IL,
nineteen grandchildren, and eleven great

grandchildren. A son, Elwood
Foreman preceded him in death.
Lloyd joined Big Zion Baptist Church in Chicago, IL, where the pastor is
Reverend Neil Redd. He remained a member until his passing.
