Obituary

Margaret Nobles was born February 17, 1950 and passed away on January 6, 2022 at the Oasis Health and Rehabilitation Center in Yazoo City, MS from a battle with cancer.

Visitation was Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6pm-8pm
Service was Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11am at Scott Memorial Funeral Home
Pastor Jason Zebert of Bethany United Methodist Church officiated
Burial followed at Short Creek Baptist Cemetery

Pallbearers were Buddy Callihan, Harvey Williams, Bubba Cantrell, Blue Cantrell, Jamie Necaise and Zach Henson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Nobles and grandson Kevin Matthew Ables.  Her parents were Cecil and Chesley Bond.  Making the journey before Margaret were two brothers, Lewis Bond and Hilarie Bond along with five sisters, Catherine Banks, Shelby Littlejohn, Martha Hancock, Pauline Burkhart, and Rebecca Lawrence.  She is survived by three daughters,  Judy Ables and Gary Dean Stovall of Yazoo City, MS, Peggy Nobles-Alkhedri and Bill Golden III of Indianapolis, IN, and Linda Nobles and Jason Young of Brandon MS, and one granddaughter, Chasity Nobles of Cincinnati, OH.  Margaret's surviving sisters are Louise Jackson of Oil City, MS and Marie Pitts of Flora, MS along with a host of nieces, nephews and many loved family friends.

Margaret was affectionately known as MS Margaret or Aunt Margaret to all that knew and loved her.  Margaret was raised in the Oil City, MS area.  She attended Bentonia Public Schools where she was notorious for her basketball skills.  She drove a school bus for many years.  She went to work for and retired from Ameristar Casino as a Transportation Supervisor in Vicksburg, MS.  Margaret attended and worshiped at Bethany United Methodist Church.  She treasured the members, fellowship, and congregation of her church.  Margaret loved and celebrated her family with every fiber of her existence.  She could talk for hours on how proud she was of her daughters and grandchildren.  She enjoyed hosting family dinners and gatherings.  MS Margaret was known for her delicious home cooking and famous biscuits at these gatherings.  She loved to decorate for the holidays.  She enjoyed sewing for others.  During the pandemic, she made masks at every holiday for all of the children that attended the Boys and Girls Club of Yazoo City, MS.  Margaret loved football.  She cheered for the Ole Miss Rebels and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.  Margaret's grandson graduated from Mississippi State and her granddaughter graduated from Ole Miss.  She loved the New Orleans Saints football team also.  Margaret's girls often told stories of how Margaret and her husband Russell loved to dance all of the time.  Margaret discovered late in life how much she loved to travel.  She visited Niagara Falls, Lake Tahoe, the Pacific Coast Hwy, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and Key West, FL.  For Margaret's 71st birthday, she and her granddaughter, Chasity spent ten days in Disney World in Orlando, FL celebrating Margaret's final but amazingly wonderful birthday.  .

Margaret's Life can be summarized by Corinthians 16:14, "Do Everything In Love."  Margaret Ann Nobles will be greatly missed because she was loved by so many family, friends.  Memorials can be made in honor of Margaret Nobles to the Boys and Girls Club of Yazoo City or to Bethany United Methodist Church.
