Mary Lena Brown was born on February 29,1952 to
Hattie Lee Ousley and Cisrow Story in Yazoo City, MS.
She was educated in Yazoo City, MS at Yazoo City High
School, Class of 1971. She was of baptized at youth at
Beulah Land Church, where she confesses hope in Christ.
Mary was loved by many people. She enjoyed spending
time with her friends and family. Her lively, uplifting,
loving and caring spirit endeared her to many who met
and knew her best. She loved to talk, no one was a
stranger to her. She had a gift of love and was always on
the go. She was a very unique person. She worked hard
at home, church, in the community as a volunteer and in
many healthcare settings. Whenever she was of help,
she was there.
On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, she answered the call and
made the transition from life to eternity.
Mary's name has now been added to those including
Hattie Ousley(mother), Cisrow Story(father), Andrew
Story(son), Catherine Roberts (sister) and DeAngelo Gant
-Brown (grandson).
Mary leaves to cherish her memories to her husband
James Lewis Brown. Her sister, Dorothy Roberts (Joe) of
Chicago, Illinois with 4 kids, Rodney, Tionne, Cheryl and
Joanne Roberts. Nephew, Johnny Walker. Her 5 kids,
Andrew Story who preceded death at birth, Sherman
Story (Roxanne) of Jackson, MS, Melissa Gant (Howard)
Jackson, MS, James Winters of Yazoo City and Shani
Winters of Jackson, MS. 10 grandchildren: Kadeja and
Daysha Story, DeAngelo Gant-Brown (preceded in
death), Lakesha Sykes, Darrell Lee Sykes Jr, Ja'Mayza and
Ja'Kayla Winters, RonNiyah Lewis, Ronniveon Lewis,
and Ronnie Lewis Jr. Mary had 13 aunts and uncles and
a special friend: Annette Smith. Lasting memories of
Mary shall remain in the hearts and minds of a host of
other relatives and friends.
