Mary Lean (MALEAN) Evans was born February 4, 1948, to Theresia and
George Evans Sr. in Vaughan, MS. She was the third of fourteen children.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Cypress Grove, which she would
later leave and join Ever Increasing Faith C.O.G.I.C (Elder Charles Jefferson)
in 1996. Mary attended Linwood School.
Mary transitioned from life at 12:30 am on September 22, 2020 at her
home surrounded by family.
Mary had a love for the community of Vaughan and she would help any and
everyone who needed her assistance.
Mary is proceeded in death by her parents Theresia Evans, George Evans
Sr.; four siblings Dorothy Evans, George Evans Jr., Jimmy Evans, and Carolyn
Evans.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Robert Thomas of
Vaughan, MS, Billy Thomas of Milwaukee, WI, and Ricky Thomas of
Milwaukee, WI; one daughter, whom was beside her at her final moments,
Bettie Yancy of Vaughan, MS; and one special daughter Wanda Woodberry
of Vaughan, MS whom also was there at Mary final moments. Twelve
grandkids in which five she raised (Marcus Thomas, George Evans III, Mary
Yancy, Damiean Yancy, and Theresia Porter) and nine great grand kids.
Seven sisters, Alyne Morton, Rose Mary Kelly, and Rosa Lee Williams, all of
Milwaukee, WI. Georgia Evans-Wells of Chicago, IL, Glendora Evans-Nabors
(Darnell) of Hazelcrest, IL, Viola Woodberry (Eddie) of Vaughan, MS, and
Patricia Smart of Greenville, MS. Three brothers Abraham Evans (Conchita)
of Kosciusko, MS, Edward Evans of Benton, MS, and Michael Evans (Patricia)
of Benton MS. Fifty-eight nieces and nephews, one special niece Latrincia
"Sunshine" Williams and one special nephew Abraham Evans Jr.
