Mr. Randy Leroy Johnson, Jr. was born on September 6, 1958 to the late Mr. Henry Leroy Johnson and Leeaunteen (Cherrie) Johnson in Yazoo County, Mississippi. He departed life on Wednesday morning, August 11, 2021, in the quiet of his home.
Randy was baptized at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a member of the choir as a youth and continued to serve in other capacities over the years. He was educated in the Yazoo County School system and graduated from Bentonia High School in 1977. On June 14, 1991, he was united in holy matrimony to the former Lucy Wilkerson of Bentonia, MS. He loved sports and motorcycles. He played softball from grade school until his health failed. He served as Vice President of the Lion Riders Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Cherrie and Henry; one son, John Maurice; three brothers, Cleotha, Carl William and Milton Earl; and one sister, Lucille.
Randy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Lucy; one Son, Marcus (Monica) Johnson of Yazoo City, MS and their daughter Cherish; two daughters, Lashunda Wilkerson of Bentonia, MS and her children, Johnarian, Jazzmeria, and Shaun; Valerie (Frederick) Edmond of Bentonia, MS and their children, Deonta and Kaleiah Wilkerson and grandchildren, Braylon and Jace; John Maurice's daughters, Jannie Mae, Sharleen and Granddaughter, Ava; and daughter, Jannie Mae; one Sister, Janet (Dion) Jones of Huntsville, AL; A devoted Mother-in-Law, Ruby Owens of Bentonia, MS; Four Sisters-in-law, Annie Johnson Jerdine of Belville, MI; Bernice Small of Clinton, MS; Eula Wilkerson and Priscilla (Charles) Small of Bentonia, MS; Four Brothers-in-law; Johnny, Obie, and George (Millie) Wilkerson of Bentonia, MS; and Wade Owens (Betty) of Columbia, MS.
Randy also had a host of beloved nieces; Adriane of Huntsville, AL; Dorothy, Olivia, and Brenda of Jackson, MS; Tiffany of Clinton, MS; Amy of Bentonia, MS; Carla of Atlanta, GA and Hadi of Milwaukee, WI; nephews; Jack and Fred of Jackson, MS; Booker, of Austin, TX; Ronald of Columbia, SC; James Darrell of Yuma, AZ; Marcus and Alan of Bentonia; and Michael of Florence, MS; Special Brother, Charles Owen of St. Louis, MO; Special Neighbors who have provided an amazing amount of support to Lucy and Randy: Louann, Ivory Joe, and Marlon Anderson of Bentonia, MS; James (JJ) Burrell, Jr. and Christopher Bassett of Bentonia, MS. Plus, host of other family, friends, and neighbors.
