Rosie Vanzant's Obituary

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an

house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1

Rosie Anderson Vanzant was born to the late Rosie Winford Anderson and Joseph Williams on

September 14, 1965 in Benton, MS. Rosie was baptized at Water Grove AME Church and commied her

life to Christ at a young age. Rosie was truly passionate about sharing God's word, enjoyed listening to

gospel music and discussing the bible, in addition to fulfilling her duties as an usher. She often shared her

light with others through her hearty cooking and well known cakes.

She attended her early education at Linwood Elementary School and graduated from Benton High School

in the class of 1985.

Her favorite song was, "When the Gates Swing Open" by Otis Clay.

Rosie peacefully transitioned as God called her home to rest on June 6, 2021. Rosie was preceded in

death by her spouse, Archie Vanzant; one son, Walter Lynn Hollins Jr. and one sister, Joyce Anderson.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her children, Octavian Hollins (son of Walter Lynn

Hollins, Sr) and Alycia McCree (daughter of Douglas McCree). Rosie will continue to live on in the hearts

and memories of her siblings Major Anderson, Birdie Brown, Zion Anderson, Jr., Dorothy Anderson,

Arthur Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Lettie Jones, Josephine Anderson, Joseph (Olivia) Anderson, Rickey

(Brenda) Anderson, Julia (Roscoe) Gray, Shirley Anderson and Williams Luce, a special friend like a sister,

Chris McGee and special friend, James Robinson hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
