Rutha Elmore's Obituary

Rutha Mae Johnson Elmore was born to the union of Rosie Mae Johnson

and Roosevelt Johnson Sr. on September 17, 1961. She was educated in

the Yazoo County school district where she received a diploma from

Yazoo City High School and went on to earn an associate degree in

nur sing from Holmes Comm unity College . At an early age ,Rutha

accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a faithful member of

Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Yazoo City, MS. On April 7,

1995, she was joined in holy matrimony to Kennedy Elmore i n Natchez,

MS where they enjoyed a life of marital bliss before relocating to

Jackson, MS . Rutha departed this life on December 23,2020 at Shelby

Baptist Hospital in Alabaster, AL.

Rutha is preceded in death by her parents, Rosie Mae and Roosevelt

John son Sr., and siblings Roosevelt Johnson Jr., Artherine Moore, Patrick

Johnson, and Michael Johnson .

Her love and memories will be cherished by a loving husband: Kennedy

Elmore of Moss Point, MS. F our devoted children: Melinda Johnson of

Grovetown, GA, J effrey Johnson ( Shaquetta) of Carthage, MS, Adria

Neely of Pelham, AL, and Micos Johnson of Jackson, MS. Two

Nephews/Sons: Herman Moore (Jovita) of Atlanta, GA, Anthony Moore

of Natchez, MS. Ten grandchildren: Jefferia, Xavier, Jeffrey Jr., Zesean,

JaKaitlin, Mickeyia ' Amaya, Mickenzy, Micos Jr., and Jamia. Ten siblings:

Sherry Burks, Jamie!Johnson, Rickey Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Kelvin

Johnson Karen Carter, Clorinda Johnson, Carolann Posey ,Brian

Johnson, Leighann Jonnson. She also leaves a host of niece s, nephews,

aunts, uncles, and friends to cherish her memories.
