Obituary

Sammie Stewart was born on April 22, 1938 to Taylor Stewart
and Victoria Gibson in Lexington, MS. During the life of
Sammie, he was a hard worker and a man that loved his family.
One of the saying that you could hear him say is, "I thank the
good Lord."
Sammie transitioned from this side of Earth on November 10,
2020 at his resident in Yazoo City. He was employed with the
City of Yazoo City Street Department for 35 years before retiring
in the year of 2000. Serving the City of Yazoo City from June
1965 until June 2000. Sammie was a HARD WORKER and
would even walk to work when transportation was not available.
Sammie united in marriage with Bobbie Hoskins with one child in
this union, the late Gloria Stewart Dixon. As life went on, Sammie
found another love of his life and they bore 3 children. His
daughter, Gloria Stewart Dixon, along with his brothers and
sisters, and other relatives proceeded him in death.
Sammie leaves to cherish his 4 children, Geneva (John) Lyles of
Indianola, MS, Lucille Allen, Sammy Allen "Jr.", and Arlicia
Allen all of Yazoo City. His companion of over 30 years, Mary
"Liz" Allen whom he loved dearly and often referred to her as
"Hon." A very special person whom he referred to as brother - in -
law, Andrew Cook of Yazoo City, MS. His grandchildren, Larry
Stewart (Holly), LaSalle Stewart Pleasant (MacArthur), Eddie
Stewart, Ari Allen, Messiah Fowler, Miracle Fowler, Morriah
Fowler, Great grandchildren, Recardo Taylor, Ti'Naja Taylor, and
Jekarius Davis. Sammie family includes the Rogers, Pittmans,
Jones, Sawyer, etc. Sammie will truly be miss be his many nieces,
nephews, cousins, extended family, The Ruckers, and friends.
