M rs. Shamika Taylor-Rogers was born on December 18,
1980 to Brenda Scott-Taylor and Johnny Taylor in
Jackson, Mississippi. She was the first of three children.
Shamika accepted Christ at an early age at Old King
Solomon Baptist Church. She attended Yazoo City
Schools and furthered her education at Hinds Community
College. She was very hard working, kind, and loving person.
She loved her job at Tower Automotive.
Shamika departed this life on March 17, 2020 at University
of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She
was preceded in death by her grandmothers Ida Mae Scott
and Mary Murphy and close cousins, Cassandra Carter,
Patricia Taylor-Granderson, and Nancy Taylor.
Shamika leaves to cherish her memories, her husband
Desmond Rogers; her daughter, Devin Rogers; two sons,
Desmionte' Rogers and Desmond Rogers, Jr., her step son
Myjhune Rogers; her mother, Brenda Taylor; her father,
Johnny Taylor; her mother-in-law, Betty Rogers; her sisters,
Erica Moore and Christine Taylor, and host of aunts, uncles.
