Tara Denise Mitchell was born on October 18, 1970, to Bernice Geralds and Daniel Gregory, and officially adopted by Cleotha Mitchell. Sister to Emory Mitchell and Kenneth Mitchell, whom she loved dearly. She was a graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago, IL. Tara aka Joe was always an overachiever and hard worker. Her first born Shana made her appearance in 1985. Shree and Shanta her other daughters soon followed. Not only was she a hard worker but became a great mother. By 1990 she was married and to this union was born her baby girl and boy Shamika and Earl.

Tara was so many things to so many people, daughter, sister, cousin, mother, confidant. Tara lived her life like she wanted, she was definitely a free spirit. She took care of her family, even others that needed help. One thing you can always remember about her is her selflessness. Her nieces were also her children, and no one could tell her different. She just was everything to everybody. With 18 grandchildren she became the best grandmother, and they love their Ma Ma, and she genuinely loved them. Tara will always be remembered for her generous and loving spirit. Her 50 years here definitely touched so many lives. For God truly gained an angel.

Tara is preceded in death by her mother Bernice, father, and brother Emory. She also had a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews, son of laws, friends, and cousins especially her cousin/sister Rochelle.
