Trumel Keith Cox, the son of Hazel Lee Cox and Roosevelt Hayes Sr.,
was born in Yazoo City on November 27, 1966. He departed this life on
December 8, 2021, at 12:33 p.m. in Pulaski, MO. He was preceded in
death by his oldest sisters, Debra Ann Cox-Leavy, Vicky Rochelle Cox,
his grandparents Albert and Gussie Johnson-Cox, Ethel Austin, and Joe
Hayes.
At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Peter M.B.
Church under the guidance of Rev. E.C. Williams. He attended Yazoo
City High School Class of 1984. In the fall of 1984, he attended Nashville
Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN. He was later employed at Hayes
Repair Shop, Wilson Kia Dealership. He was recently employed with
Stoneland in Springfield, MO.
Trumel's strong spirit and sense of humor as well as his loving and kind
memories will be cherished by all that had the opportunity to know him.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife, Cawanda Cox. His children,
AnnDrieka (Marcus) Hudson, Daviunna Price of Yazoo City, MS,
Keirra Vaughn of Chicago, IL, Trumel Keith Cox II of Lawton, OK,
Kenyon Banks of Flora, MS, Terrandon Morris of Yazoo City, MS, and
Madison Cox of Republic, MO. Six grandchildren, his mother Hazel Lee
Cox and father Roosevelt Hayes Sr of Yazoo City, MS; Nine sisters,
Patricia Cox (Calvin) Jones of Jackson, MS, Nikki (Byron) Embry of Mt.
Juliet, TN, Willie Mae, Carolyn Soul, Linda (Andre) Mullins, Linda
Young, and Mary Hayes (Anthony) Wyatt of Yazoo City, MS, Lilly
(Johnnie) of Staples of Richmond, CA, Patricia (Gerald) Woolfolk of
Ridgeland, MS; two brothers, Roosevelt Hayes Jr. of Yazoo City, MS and
Roosevelt Hayes Jr. of Yazoo City, MS, and Roosevelt McDonald of
Chicago, IL; God-son, Derrick Booker Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins , friends.
