Velma (Lil Bae) Marie Allen Ellis was born to the late Louise and Sam Allen, Jr. on May 15, 1957. Velma
transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday May 24, 2021 at 2:05 p.m. She dedicated her life to Christ at
an early age where she was a member of St. Peter M.B. Church until her health declined.
Velma was a member of Yazoo City High School Class of 1976.
On June 7, 1982 Velma married Craig Ellis and to this union one child was born.
Velma was preceded in death by her mother: Louise Delaware Allen; her father: Sam Allen, Jr.; son: George
(U.U.) Ellis; sisters: Vera Walton, Erma Walton; brothers: Spencer Barber, Elois Allen and Darnell Allen.
Velma leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband: Craig Ellis; daughter: Lavonia Allen; grandson: Robert
Donerson III; Stepkids: Joy Ellis, Craig Ellis Jr., Tatiana Harris and Trevon Ellis; a special puppy: Missy Ellis;
sisters: Yvonne Allen and Jeoline (Alvin) Ellis; her twin sister Thelma Allen, Pearline Deal, Deloris (Robert)
Ellis, Dianne (Darrell) Maxwell and Annette (Charles) Campbell; brothers: S.L. Allen and Freddie (Ella) Chism;
Nieces and Nephews she raised as her own: Lashika Allen, Alfonzo Allen, Courtney (Nicole) Allen and Jimmy
