OBITUARY
Walter Allen, Jr., affectionately known as "Hawk", was born December 30, 1940 to the late Mrs.
Jesse Mae Allen and the late Walter Allen, Sr.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. Francis Catholic Church in 1947 under the
leadership of Father Steere, and in later years, Father O'Leary.
In the year of 1958, he graduated from St. Francis Mission School. After graduation, he went on
to work at Mississippi Chemical Corporation, Magnavox, and The International Paper Mill where
he retired in 2003 after 29 years of service.
In 1961 he united in Holy Matrimony to Helen Louise Allen. To this union, three children were
born: Marilyn, Walter III, and Patricia.
His mother, father, and wife preceded him in death.
With increasing faith, he endured his illness, and that same faith allowed him to make his
transition home on October 10, 2020.
He leaves to cherish his memories three brothers: Robert Allen (Marilyn) of Yazoo City, MS,
Edward Allen (Shirley) of Vicksburg, MS and Arthur Mitchell of Yazoo City, MS; One sister:
Minnie Louise Allen of Yazoo City, MS; Three sons: Walter Allen III (Angel) of Jackson, MS,
Victor Young and Jerry Young both of Yazoo City, MS; Two daughters: Marilyn Allen King
(Joe) of Yazoo City, MS. and Patricia Allen (Andre) of Fort Worth, TX, along with many loving
grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
