Wilbert Lee
Haymer Jr
May 11, 1960 — Feb 19, 2021
Wilbert Lee Haymer, Jr
"Mite"
Mite was born the first child to Wilbert Lee Haymer (Monk) and Terizena Turner on May
11th , 1960 in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
He attended most of his elementary school years between New Orleans, Louisiana and
Yazoo City, Mississippi. He had a very happy and loving childhood shared with his
siblings, parents and his beloved grandmother, Mrs. Annie Mae Odom (Ms. Annie Mae).
He was a very adventurous and curious child and didn't mind taking a dare, which
would always land him in trouble (if he got caught).
During middle school the family moved to Mississippi where he continued his education
and graduated from Yazoo City High School with the Class of 1978. After graduation he
joined the US Military, serving in the US Army. After leaving the Military, he worked in
California and Texas and finally made Detroit, MI his home where he worked in
construction building bridges and highways. He eventually married Lodisda Glover and
was blessed with a daughter during that union. He was very proud of his daughter
Aaliyah Monea Haymer, and was looking forward to the birth of his first grand-child.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family laughing, talking and watching sports.
His presence will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father Wilbert L Haymer, a daughter Aaliyah
Monea Haymer of Detroit, MI, seven siblings, Connie C. Mackel of Yazoo City, MS,
Samuel S Haymer (Sabrina Haymer) of Mt Vernon, IL, Kevin W. Haymer of
Sacramento, CA, Raymundus M. Turner (Sharon Turner) of Jackson, Rodney L.
Haymer, Mary A. Turner of Oakley, CA, Mornen N. Fullwood of Sacramento, CA and
Trishon L Baker of Atlanta, GA, a host of cousins', nieces, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
